The German VIUS SE & Co. KGaA, which operates the Berlin news portal “NiUS” headed by former BILD boss Julian Reichelt, has acquired a 25% stake in the Austrian company “eXXpress”.
“We are delighted that we were able to support VIUS quickly and efficiently in this complex transaction,” said lead partner Wolfgang Sieh on the successful completion of the transaction.
In future, the team of eXXpress publisher Eva Schütz will cooperate with NiUS. The investor side VIUS was represented by ATLAS partners Wolfgang Sieh (lead partner) and Dimitar Anadoliyski (corporate law/M&A).
Founded in March 2021, eXXpress has established a prominent position in the Austrian media landscape within a very short time. VIUS, operator of the news portal NiUS, is starting a cooperation between the two media NiUS and eXXpress by acquiring a stake in eXXpress. This will exploit synergy effects and successfully continue the growth of both media.
